- Understanding the strengths & weaknesses of our Financial Planners to allow a great relationship between you, the Planners and most importantly our Clients.
- Embracing and following a workflow process to ensure you do what you promise to do, every time.
- Diving in headfirst to work out a solution to a problem, sometimes the safety nets are not sound!
- Re-prioritising every day and every hour to keep all the stakeholders (including Clients) happy.
- Being immersed in a list of financial strategies to assist a Client implement recommendations to improve their finances and in turn their life.
- Saying “no problem at all” with a smile because it earns you respect.
- Being a jack-of-all-trades, which a job description just cannot cover!
- Having Clients say cool things about you in Client satisfaction surveys.
- Ironing your clothes and shining your shoes because reputation matters.
- Feeling proud of the organisation of which you are part of and the difference you make in people’s lives.
- Chalking up additional qualifications and skills to add to your life resume.
- Choice as your career progresses.
Realistically, we need someone who can be hands on immediately with previous experience in customer service or the finance sector. In addition, Financial Planning qualifications would add a lot of credibility.
While this is all the Year One and Beyond stuff, Day One is pretty good too. These are things like remuneration, the company and its values, the people and the location. However, none of this matter unless “Year One and Beyond” makes career sense to you.
